Grilled Turkey Burgers with Avocado and Bacon

If you're looking for a tasty and healthier alternative to beef burgers, try these Grilled Turkey Burgers with Avocado and Bacon from Shady Brook Farms. All of this is put on a whole wheat bun with crispy turkey bacon, creamy avocado, and fresh vegetables. The turkey patties are juicy. Great for a barbecue in the backyard or dinner during the week.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Shady Brook Farms ground turkey
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 4 slices of turkey bacon
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil for grilling

Instructions:

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat

While the grill is heating up, season the ground turkey with salt and pepper, and divide it into 4 equal portions, shaping them into burger patties

Place the turkey bacon slices on the grill and cook until crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side

Remove and set aside

Brush the turkey burger patties with olive oil and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through with no pink in the center

During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of Swiss cheese to each patty and allow it to melt

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill until they are slightly browned

To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a turkey burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, crispy turkey bacon, avocado slices, and red onion

Top with the other half of the bun

Serve your grilled turkey burgers with avocado and bacon hot, and enjoy!
