Eastern European Comfort Wrap



The rich flavors of ground meat, sauerkraut, and creamy sauce come together in this Eastern European Comfort Wrap, making it easy and satisfying to eat on the go. It's great for a cozy family dinner or to show off Eastern European food to your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef or pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large tortillas or flatbreads
  • Chopped fresh dill for garnish optional

Instructions:

Cook the ground beef or pork in a large skillet over medium-low heat until it turns brown and is fully cooked

Break it up as it cooks

To the skillet, add the minced garlic and chopped onion

Saut until the onion is soft and clear

The cooked rice, sauerkraut, and paprika should all be mixed in

Let it cook for five more minutes so the flavors can mix

Add pepper and salt to taste

Put the mayonnaise and sour cream in a small bowl and mix them together to make a creamy sauce

In a dry skillet or the microwave, heat the tortillas or flatbreads until they are soft

On each tortilla or flatbread, put a large spoonful of the creamy sauce

Place an equal amount of the meat and sauerkraut mixture on each tortilla and top it with sauce

If you want, you can sprinkle chopped fresh dill on top of the filling

Fold the tortillas' sides in, and then roll them up tightly

If necessary, use toothpicks to keep them together

Put the Eastern European Comfort Wraps on the grill for a few minutes on each side to make them crispy

You can serve them right away
