Roasted Turkey with Herb Butter

This roasted turkey with herb butter is a delicious and keto-friendly main dish that's perfect for any holiday or special occasion. The herb butter adds flavor and moisture to the turkey, while keeping it tender and juicy. Serve it alongside your favorite low-carb sides for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole turkey about 12-14 pounds
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs such as rosemary, thyme, and sage
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 325F 165C

Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels

In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined

Gently loosen the skin of the turkey by carefully sliding your fingers between the skin and the meat

Spread the herb butter mixture evenly under the skin of the turkey, covering as much of the meat as possible

Tie the legs of the turkey together with kitchen twine and tuck the wing tips under the body of the turkey

Place the turkey breast side up on a rack set in a roasting pan

Roast the turkey in the preheated oven, basting every 30 minutes with pan juices, until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh registers 165F 75C, about 3 to 4 hours

Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving

Carve the turkey and serve hot

Enjoy!
